The addon is well suited for tire retailers operating in Canada and the US, where recycling fees are mandated at the provincial or state level, but works equally well for any regulatory surcharge that needs to be charged at checkout.
With this addon you can configure mandatory regulatory surcharges — such as tire recycling fees, battery disposal fees, and other environmental handling fees — and automatically add them to customer orders based on product type and shipping destination.
Each fee appears as a separate line item in the cart, order summary, and invoice, and cannot be removed by the customer.
When configuring fees, you can set rates that depend on the product's fee class (e.g., passenger tire, truck tire) and the customer's shipping zone (province or state). Each fee supports both fixed amounts and percentages, and can be applied per unit or as a flat amount per order. You can also mark a fee as taxable, so applicable taxes are calculated on top of it.
