The addon enables the use of Mandrill for all the transactional emails, also called triggered emails, in your online store. The feature is available for X-Cart 5 (5.1.0 and above) and X-Cart Classic (4.7.8 and above) users.
What is a transactional email?
Basically, it is email sent to an individual based on some action on your eCommerce website. It could be:
- Order confirmations
- Order status updates
- Password resets
- Abandoned Cart Reminders*
- and other (i.e. all the eCommerce transactional emails from your X-Cart store will be sent via Mandrill).
*If the Abandoned Cart Reminder (for X-Cart 5) or the Abandoned Cart Reminder for v4 (for X-Cart 4 Classic) is enabled, Mandrill will handle its notifications too. Once the 'Not finished' order is placed, the customer receives a reminder with a special tag for future reports. Mandrill collects the statistics so the reports of customer's activity (e-mails opened, links clicked, orders finished) will be available in the admin area of X-Cart store in the ‘Statistics’ section.
