Add an option that allows you to set a fee your customers pay when buying a part. This fee will be returned to them when they send the old part back to you.
How It Works
The core charge is a deposit held by a merchant to ensure the return of the used part, which is then sent back to the rebuilder for remanufacturing.
A car parts buyer pays the core charge at the time of purchase. When a customer buys a new replacement part and returns the old part in reusable condition, they get a refund in the amount of the Core Charge. This helps to reduce product costs and is good for the environment.
The Core Charge is not included in the product's price and can be added and adjusted independently from the amount in the 'Price' section. The core charge per product is shown separately from the price on the product page. At checkout, it is included in the total amount.
Key Features
1. Set and adjust the Core Charge fee for each product independently from the price in the separate "Core Charge" section in the Product Info tab.
2. Import the Core Charge for each product (via API integrations with automotive distributors, such as Turn 14 Distribution and Keystone Automotive Operations or CSV files).
3. Display the Core Charge fee on the product page as an addition to the main price.
4. Show the Core Charge on the Shopping Cart page and at checkout as part of the Subtotal amount.
5. In the admin area, show the Core Charge on the invoice page for each product in the product list and as part of the Subtotal amount. Add this information to the customer invoice as well.
6. In the admin area, edit the Core Charge as part of the order for each product on the product list.
Promote parts recycling among car parts buyers, help them save on new replacement parts, and contribute to sustainability.
